“Locally based rock band, The Bad Downs will be appearing at Rock Fest 2009 as part of their Summer Tour.
As part of their 2-day stint at Rock Fest 2009, they will open the weekend’s main stage festivities, where they will be followed on Thursday July 16th on the main stage in by national artists, Blackberry Smoke, Saving Able and The Steve Miller Band.”

Well, I guess I should explain. We have fun pretty much everywhere we play, but sometimes we find a place like The Hideout in Green Bay that is just a blast to play. We played the show on short notice and it was so much fun. They have a nice stage, a great light show, room to dance, friendly bartenders and awesome owners. The crowd really got into the show and we’re hoping to come back and party with The Hideout crowd again soon!
Speaking of great parties, we’ll be back at Rachel’s Roadside Bar and Grill this Saturday the 13th. Last time we played Rachel’s, it was out of control and it’s a safe bet that it will be again this Saturday. See you there!

Here’s a little travel advice if you ever find yourself in Minocqua at 3:00am, hungry after packing up from another fun show at Belle Isle. The Country Kitchen is a 1-1/4 mile walk (each way) from Belle Isle. When you get to Country Kitchen, it will be closed and you’ll have to walk another 1-1/4 miles back to your hotel. At least that’s what happened to a few of us after Sunday night’s show. Too bad the grill wasn’t open at Belle Isle because they have great food too! Anyway, we had a great time with the crew at The Belle as we always do and we’re looking forward to the rest of our summer shows at Belle Isle in beautiful Minocqua!

Yes, the rumors are true! We will be playing at Rock Fest this year! We are scheduled to be THE opening band, playing the Main Stage at 4:30 on Thursday July 16th. After kicking off this year’s Fest, we will be playing in Tent #3 for the remainder of Thursday and all day Friday. For more info, visit www.rock-fest.com. See you there!
